Subject: Study of different types migrations and mobility

The Workshop Culture of Migration is an open, long-term programme, organized as a cycle of monthly workshops. The aim of this programme is to extend the scholar interest on migration processes and mobility.

The Workshop Culture of Migration has been created to accomplish an open dialogue between researchers of migration processes. Scholars from different disciplines (ethnology, anthropology, sociology, political science, history, economy) and journalists discuss the results of their researches on different aspects of contemporary and traditional migration movements.

In frames of the program are realized specific research projects. In 2002 has been accomplished the project “Research of migration adjustments in the Rodope mountain”, supported by Foundation “International Center on Problems of Minorities and Cultural Interactions”. As a result a film “To live there, to dream here” was created. It was published Workshop proceedings - Карамихова, М. (Съст.) Да живееш там, да се сънуваш тук. In 2006 was published Workshop proceedings - Карамихова, М. (Съст.) Градиво за етнология на миграциите. София: ЕИМ - БАН, 2006.

In 2006 in the frames of the Workshop Culture of migrations was organized an international symposium “You have a clear sign! "Return" of religiosity in the end of the 20th and beginning of the 21st century” with participation of colleagues from Republic of Macedonia. It was published Workshop proceedings - Карамихова, М. (Съст.) "Завръщане" на религиозността. София: ЕИМ - БАН, 2007.
